Obama staying at the same hotel
Obama has been spotted at the same hotel where a group of Xavier University students are staying.
Des Moines weather might be a challenge
Weather forecasts today call for up to six inches of snow, coupled with ice, between about now and 3 p.m. That could present a serious challenge to the group of students from Xavier University who are scattered among the various presidential candidates' campaigns doing everything from door-knocking to stuffing envelopes.
A quick check out the hotel room window reveals a dusting of snow has fallen in the last hour or so, but precipitation has all but stopped. Radar shows more is on the way, however.
Some students reported last evening that they had been told by campaign officials that they may not get picked up for several hours today if the weather turns ugly.
Later today, I will be reporting from the Brown & Black Forum, a meeting of Democratic presidential candidates. It will be broadcast live on HDNet.
Google Ron Paul
Seems that the "Google Ron Paul" signs seen popping up all over
Cincinnati on highway overpasses and in front yards have made an impact
on at least one demographic: Xavier University students.
Matthew Finger, managing editor of Xavier's "News Wire," the
student-run newspaper, is one of four students who have chosen to work
on the Republican Texas Congressman and past Libertarian Party
presidential candidate's Iowa caucus campaign.

Rudy Giuliani in Cincinnati Wednesday for fundraiser
Presidential candidate and Republican front-runner Rudy Giuliani will be in Cincinnati Wednesday for a breakfast fundraiser, sources have told Cincy.com.
Plans are underway and invitations have gone out for Giuliani's second
fundraiser in the Queen City, though the location is unknown. Will
update with more information as it becomes available.
In Des Moines, staying with Obama?
We (that's me, along with the Xavier University contingent) arrived in Des Moines, Iowa a few hours ago. I am in my hotel room - rumored to be in the same hotel Democratic presidential front-runner Barack Obama will be using this weekend - getting the Internet up and running. It appears to be working. Look for more updates all weekend long.
