New to Cincinnati? Check out this Blog
"Jackie Danicki didn’t know anybody when she moved to Cincinnati."
So begins the About page of her new blog at new2cincy.wordpress.com.
She didn't waste any time changing that. Her latest online work is an
attractive, thoughtful piece of hospitality. It provides a local's look
at life in the city, and one that holds appeal for newcomers and long
time residents, alike.
Posts so far include a story about meeting newcomers in her neighborhood, information about the public library and reasons people cite for considering Cincinnati the best place they've ever lived.
I've met Jackie only once, at a Cincinnati Salon she hosted for a conversation with Peter Block some months ago. The Salon is yet another way she has created to connect people in conversation about life here in Cincinnati.
Jackie's commitment to the city she's adopted as home is inspirational, and I'll be reading her blog regularly. Someone commented that the new2cincy blog is similar to other Cincinnati sites popping up these days. If so, I'll be happy to see a lot more like it, telling their own stories from a personal perspective with the energy of hospitality and neighborly generosity.
