Mount Adams :: Overview

First Impression: Known for its stunning views of the city, Mt. Adams is a small, pristine neighborhood reminiscent of a London borough. Full of independent shops and restaurants, as well as beautiful parks, Mt. Adams is one of the best places in the city to take a romantic stroll or catch a sunset.

Second Look: Narrow roads and clustered shops give an intimate, cozy feel to this city on a hill. Home to nine restaurants and 10 bars, an incredible art museum and one of the city's most popular parks, Mt. Adams always offers something interesting to do or see.

The neighborhood favors pedestrians; everything is close and within walking distance. It is also dog-friendly - local businesses often leave out bowls of fresh water for pup passersby. Those navigating by car should keep in mind that though street parking is limited, there is a garage beneath the monastery. Steep streets also make parallel parking difficult, and can be impossible to climb when icy.

Houses and rentals tend to be pricey in Mt. Adams (you pay for the great view!), and many of the restaurants are also mid-high range. However, folks not looking to spend much can enjoy happy hour at the local taverns or grab a coffee at Koka Coffee Lounge - and visiting Krohn Conservatory, Eden Park or Cincinnati Art Museum is free!
