Montgomery :: Noteworthy

Montgomery NoteworthyIn the heart of the historic district of Montgomery is the original location of the Montgomery Inn, the number one independent rib/barbeque restaurant in the United States.

Founded in 1951 by Ted Gregory, the restaurant is nationally known for its ribs and chicken barbecued in Mrs. Matula Gregory's original recipe sauce. The Inn ships its products world-wide, and its sauce is now available in grocery stores and online.

The restaurant boasts many famous customers including US Presidents and Hollywood stars. Gregory, dubbed "the Ribs King" by a local journalist, has stayed active in the business, which has expanded to other equally popular locations. But eating in the original Montgomery location is an especially noteworthy experience.
