Colerain Township :: Food & Drink

Vinoclet interior, Colerain DiningColerain offers a wide range of unique dining options in addition to numerous chain restaurants. For ethnic cuisine, one can choose from Thai Namtip (Thai), Kabuto Japanase Steakhouse and Sushi Bar (Japanese hibachi and sushi), Golden Dragon (Chinese) Xochimilco (traditional Mexican) or Tumbleweed Southwest Grill (Tex Mex). Walt's Barbeque is a local favorite for everything barbequed, with all-you-can-eat ribs on Tuesdays and an extensive kid's menu. Another great BBQ joint is Big Art's BBQ, which, besides BBQ, also serves southern delicacies like hickory-grilled chicken breast sandwiches and Cajun-fried jumbo shrimp.

If you're a late riser, P & S Restaurant serves breakfast all day, as well as home-cooked style dinner specials, such as meatloaf, liver and onions and macaroni and cheese. More home-style goodness is available at Wedge Inn, famous for Wednesday night ribs specials and fried chicken. Another casual diner is Tagg's Café and Coffee Bar, which specializes in coffee and home-cooked fare. Meat lovers will want to visit Dena's Diner to sample their legendary double-decker sandwiches filled with three meats and an egg.

If you're really hungry, there's Dynasty Buffet, which offers a huge spread of Asian cooking, as well as more Americanized cuisine, such as bacon-wrapped hot dogs. One of Colerain's dining gems (and also one of its most popular date spots) is Vinoklet Winery & Restaurant. They offer seven varieties of wine, from sweet to dry, and you can even stroll their 35-acre vineyard. For a fixed price, you can grill your own dinner on the weekends, or order from their upscale menu items such as barbequed ribs or chicken cordon bleu. There is also a bonfire and a strolling violinist on Friday and Saturday nights.

Colerain nightlife Trio LoungeColerain's nightlife, in keeping with the West Side entertainment ethic, includes casual, friendly neighborhood taverns with affordable drinks and a simple, fun atmosphere. McDog's Lakeside Tavern (open from noon-2 a.m.) is a good example; located just a few minutes from Northgate Mall in a nondescript building, the bar serves up drinks and pub grub ranging from chips and salsa to pizza. Paul's Pub & Grill is a nice spot for darts or pool. Just One More offers $1.50 Bud Lite drafts during happy hour, as well as darts, pool and bar-top games. Groesbeck Tavern offers a long happy hour (2-8 Sunday-Friday) and karaoke from Wednesday-Sunday nights. Club Trio's claim to fame is that they sell no drink over $3, and hosts cornhole tournaments on Wednesday nights. Tumbleweed Southwest Grill does domestic draft and longneck specials on Thursdays, as well as a full menu of Tex-Mex favorites.
